Happy December

Happy Holidays to one and all! Our student elves have been very busy creating in the Art Studio!
Mrs. Hennessy's 5th grade class designed beautiful copper foil ornaments to represent AES on our West Clermont/Union Township Christmas Tree. They turned out quite beautiful. If you are in the Eastgate area stop by and see the huge tree in front of Union Township Civic Center. Our 2nd graders have been learning about the legend of the poinsettia. Each student created a paper origami style pinwheel to adorn our new beautiful building. Our fourth grade students are studying Pioneers and how they lived. We discussed how Pioneers would made gifts so we are creating God's Eyes using yarn and popsicle sticks for ornaments or necklaces. First grade students used their hands and feet to create Rudolf the Red nose Reindeer. They first traced their feet and cut out for head of the reindeer and then painted their hand prints for antlers. Next they added details with construction paper eyes, nose and harness and bells. Lastly Ms. Michael's kindergarten class and 3rd grade artist will be studying the art and illustrations of Jan Brett. Kindergarten students will be studying the Mitten and creating a mittens with construction paper. Gameboards are the subject for third grade students projects.
I am hoping to add some photos to my blog soon. Keep warm and toasty. Mrs. Koehler
